With the slogan “Honoring Nepali art, talent to promote and preserve Nepali Culture,” the 7th edition of the Sagarmatha Music Award 2082, recently held in Kathmandu, honored fashion and pageant choreographer Aswini Kant Jha with the “Sagarmatha Art Honor 2082.”
He was specially recognized by the organizers for his significant contribution to the modeling industry. The event, attended by prominent figures from the music and glamour sectors, also featured high praise from the organizers for Jha’s remarkable contributions to the field. After receivig the honour Mr. Jha said “I have always focused not only on making models look beautiful, but also on helping them develop strong expression and effective presentation skills. This recognition has made me feel an even greater sense of responsibility”.
Aswini has been actively involved for many years in training, grooming, and personality development of models. The models he has trained have excelled at both national and international level gaining recognition not only on the runway but also in music videos and films. His trainees are capable of performing confidently both in front of and behind the camera, making them highly adaptable and easy for directors to work with.
Choreographer Aswini has previously been honored with numerous national and international awards and recognitions. At the award ceremony held at Rastriya Nachghar, Jamal, senior sitar artist Bijaya Sharma was presented with the Sagarmatha Lifetime Achievement Award, along with a cash prize of NPR 17,696. Senior journalist Dhrua Lamsal received the Sagarmatha Art Journalism Silver Award with a cash prize of NPR 8,848, while media personality Shiromani Dawadi was honored with the Sagarmatha Radio Journalism Award.
Similarly, lyricist Khemnath Dahal received a music award, while Ramratha Thapa was honored for social service. Rajendra Luitel, President of the Event Managers Association Nepal, received the Sagarmatha Special Honor. Lyricist Lokraj Adhikari, Rajan Budhathoki, and Rajendra Thapa Magar were each honored with the Sagarmatha Music Honor.
In addition, awards were presented to artists in the music industry who excelled in various competitive categories during the event.
