Beijing: The Sixth Global Conference and Awards Ceremony, jointly organized by SMP Media House and Nikila Media, was held in a grand manner at Hotel Lifan in Beijing, the capital of China.
The ceremony honored nearly one and a half dozen Nepali personalities, along with distinguished individuals, businesspeople, artists, social workers and experts from various fields who have made significant contributions in Nepal and China.
The event was organized with the objective of further strengthening the historic relationship between Nepal and China through tourism, culture, economic cooperation and business partnerships. Discussions were also held on promoting tourism, enhancing economic cooperation and expanding business relations between the two countries.
The ceremony was held under the chief hospitality of Roshan Khanal, Acting Ambassador of Nepal to China. Chinese business leaders, including Wang Yan, head of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement and Chamber of Commerce and Industries, as well as Chinese entrepreneurs Guo Koni Li, Mei and Dabilia Auti, were also specially honored during the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Acting Ambassador Khanal said that organizing such an international event in China, one of the world’s major powers, was itself a significant achievement. He stated that such programs could further strengthen Nepal-China relations while contributing to the promotion of tourism, economic activities and cooperation between the two countries.
Special guest Wang Yan recalled the historic and friendly relations between Nepal and China and emphasized the need to further broaden mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Senior Nepali singer Sitaram Pokharel, who participated in the event from Nepal, said that the international programs being organized by the host organization in different countries have contributed to promoting Nepal’s tourism, arts and cultural identity. He described the initiative of connecting Nepali art, culture and tourism through international platforms as a positive development.
Similarly, Sharda Basyal, a tourism expert from Lumbini Province and a senior Nepal Government official associated with the Lumbini tourism industry, said that effectively promoting Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautama Buddha, in China could make a significant contribution to Nepal’s tourism development. She emphasized the need to further expand tourism cooperation between Nepal and China.
Senior Nepali engineer Mohan Sangraula highlighted the long and historic relationship between Nepal and China. Referring to the deep ties that have existed since the time of Araniko, he stressed the need to further expand the relationship by connecting its historical foundation with modern economic and business cooperation.
During the ceremony, senior singer Sitaram Pokharel was presented with the Apex Global Special Award. According to the organizers, individuals who have made notable contributions to education, social service, arts, music, youth talent, business, healthcare, tourism and other sectors were also honored in various categories.
Lalita Prasai received the Education and Social Service Award, Mohan Sangraula received the Engineering Service Award, Purushottam Acharya received the Art Award, Rita Devi Acharya Kattel received the Social Service Award, Ganesh Thapa received the Singing Award, and Anamika Chaulagain received the Young Singing Award.
Likewise, Indra Bahadur Lama received the Artistry Award, Ramesh Acharya received the Diaspora Social Service Award, Sabina Khadka received the Hair Expert Award, Salina Lama received the Women Entrepreneur Award, Krishna Ghimire received the Healthcare Service Award, Nisha Lama received the Women Social Service Award, and Dinesh Khanal received the International Expert Award.
During the ceremony, Rama Pokharel, Sunita Sangraula, Sabala Khadka (Thapa) and Jyoti Bhattarai were presented with tokens of appreciation.
The event was chaired by Shreedev Bhattarai, head of the organizing institution and a Nepali actor. The ceremony was hosted by the organization’s advisor Sonitaraj Dhungel, while the closing remarks were delivered by GWRH Rajendra Luitel (Raj) .
During the event, the organizers also announced that the Seventh Global Conference and Awards Ceremony will be held in Bali, Indonesia. The organizers are preparing to make the next edition even more extensive, with greater international participation and a stronger focus on promoting Nepal.
According to the organizers, the ceremony, organized with the objective of connecting the historic Nepal-China relationship with cultural, tourism and economic cooperation, has created a new platform for dialogue and collaboration while promoting Nepal’s identity and potential on the international stage.
