Kathmandu: Rastriya Byaktitwa Samman and Diverse Cultural Programme 2083 concluded successfully in a dignified and grand manner, embracing the guiding principle, “Every individual has a unique identity shaped by their work, and personalities from diverse fields deserve recognition.”
Evergreen Worldwide Entertainment organised the programme on Friday, Shrawan 15, 2083 B.S., at the Film Development Board in Kathmandu. The event was held on the traditional Nepali occasion of Kheer Khane Din and marked the organisation’s proud entry into its 14th year.
During the programme, fifty personalities who have established distinguished identities in the fields of film, health, business, beauty, tourism, journalism, music and various other sectors were honoured with Decade Honours, Special Honours and Encouragement Honours.
The programme was held under the chief guestship of Dinesh D.C., Chairperson of the Film Development Board. Distinguished guests included Nepal’s first film actress Bhuwan Chand, Chaityadevi Singh, celebrated comedy actress Basundhara Bhusal, Krishna Malla, Rabindra Khadka, Mohan Niraula, Raju Shah, Uttam K.C., Mithila Sharma, Narayan Pradhan, Gopalkaji Kayastha and Nirmal Raj Poudel. Hundreds of guests from different sectors were also present.
Shivahari Nepal ‘Bairagi’ Receives Long Service Honour
The Long Service Honour Award, introduced for the first time this year, was presented to distinguished filmmaker Shivahari Nepal ‘Bairagi’ in recognition of his continuous contribution to the field of art and cinema.
He received a cash prize of Rs. 33,333, equivalent to thirty-three thousand three hundred and thirty-three rupees, along with the honour.
The programme was organised with the objective of recognising individuals from different professions while promoting and preserving Nepali art, culture and indigenous traditions.
Among those honoured were distinguished broadcaster, presenter and newsreader Kalyani Rimal; distinguished filmmakers Subash Prasad Gajurel and Shyam Rai; world cyclist and global peace campaigner Pushkar Shah; senior ophthalmologist, educationist and researcher Prof. Dr. Minu Chaudhary; and distinguished filmmakers Badri Prasad Pudasaini, Narendra Thapa, R.P. Pant and Kamal Kanta Mainali.
Similarly, dance therapy trainer Charan Pradhan; distinguished filmmakers Sushil Pokharel, N.B. Maharjan, Krishna Prasad Dhungana, Bijay Deuja and Mukunda Thapa; literary personality Radha Parajuli Bhandari; filmmaker Umesh Khadka; hotel operations director Dipendra Singh; educationist and social worker Chhabi Ghimire; distinguished educationist and academic leader Ramila Subedi; and senior journalist and lyricist Shantipriya were also honoured.
Other recipients included distinguished filmmaker Rajendra K.C. ‘Raju’; distinguished filmmaker Dhiren Shakya; filmmaker and entrepreneur Kishor Ghimire; senior journalist Shyam Smrit; distinguished editor Banish Shah; academic personality Baikuntha Pathak; filmmaker Raju Shahi; senior social worker Bishwaram Makaju; agricultural campaigner and industrialist Hemakanta Parajuli; and distinguished filmmaker Shivashankar Prasad Rijal ‘Jogindar’.
Singer and composer Tilakdhwaj Kattel; audio-video director and creative communication professional Manish Raj Poudel; actress and model Prerana Sharma; senior social worker Uddhav Prasad Pandey; singer and social worker Ganesh Thapa; actor, model and director Shiban Pokharel; automobile entrepreneur and social worker Roshan Kumar Shrestha; cinematographer, editor and artist Amrit Sagar; and senior theatre and film personality J.B. D.C. were also among the honourees.
Likewise, actress and model Monika Dahal; distinguished visual effects artist Achyut Bajgain; film director, writer and communication professional Janak Khadka; artist and director Indra Bahadur Lama Tamang ‘Khambe’; artist, writer and director Binaya Raj Poudel; director Devendra Pandey; artist Chandrakala Rai ‘Lovely’; actress and model Sabina Karki; and social worker and women’s empowerment campaigner Dilmaya Tamang Rana were honoured during the ceremony.
The Balaju Women’s Naumati Baja Group performed traditional Nepali music throughout the programme, creating a festive and culturally vibrant atmosphere.
The programme was broadcast live by Life OK Television.
The audience enjoyed a musical performance by singer and composer Krishna Bhattarai. An emotional dance presentation by students of N.K. Dance and Film Production and Mahan Siddhartha High School, choreographed by Chudamani Phuyal, deeply moved the audience.

Gopal Dhakal ‘Chhande’, Chairperson of the organising institution and a popular comedy artist, stated that the programme had been successfully completed with the support and cooperation of all concerned individuals and institutions.
He added that the programme had received highly positive and appreciative responses and announced that the organisation would conduct even more organised and grand events in the coming years.
