The Nepal Former Police Artists Association celebrated its second anniversary and third Creator Honor Program, honoring five distinguished artists for their valuable contributions to different fields of art.
The awards, established by actress and dancer Mithila Sharma in memory of her gurus, were presented on the occasion of Guru Purnima at Nepal Police Club, Kathmandu.
Comedian and director Santosh Pant received the Hada & Pal Humor Literature Award 2083, singer and musician Dr. Kiran Pradhan received the Gopal Yonjan Music Award 2083, and dancer Bimal Shrestha Chhetri received the Rajpal Thapa Dance Award 2083. Writer and lyricist former Nepal Army Lieutenant General Rajendra Thapa was honored with the Chetan Karki Literary Award 2083.
Actor and former Nepal Police Additional Inspector General Arjun Jung Shahi received the first-ever Nepal Former Police Art Award 2083.
The awards carried a cash prize of NPR 25,000 each. Mithila Sharma said the honors were established to preserve the legacy of her respected gurus and express gratitude for their guidance and inspiration.
The program was attended by Nepal Police Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki and senior personalities from the police and art sectors. Former and current police-affiliated artists also presented songs, music, and dance performances during the event.
