Singer, musician, and arranger Sanjay Khadgi has been honored with the ‘Ambassador for Peace’ Award. The recognition was presented to him during a special program organized by the Youth Federation of Nepal in Kathmandu on the occasion of the United Nations International Youth Day 2025.
Khadgi has been actively contributing to the Nepali music industry for more than three decades. He began his musical journey in 1993 (BS 2050) after successfully passing a vocal test. His song “Timi Bina Bachna Sakdina” earned a nomination at the Hits FM Music Awards in 1999 (BS 2056), marking one of his early breakthroughs.
He received formal music training under maestros Kumar Lal Shrestha and Mohan Prasad Joshi, and later pursued classical vocal studies in Allahabad, India, where he graduated with a Gold Medal Diploma in Classical Singing.
Over the years, Khadgi has not only excelled in singing but also in composing and arranging music, with hundreds of songs to his credit. He has collaborated with renowned Nepali artists including Ananda Karki, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Murali Dhar, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Anju Panta, as well as many emerging and established singers.
