The upcoming Nepali film Rato Ghera – The Red Circle, directed by Anil Budha Magar, was officially launched with a traditional script worship ceremony at Banglamukhi Temple in Patan on Thursday. The film is scheduled to begin principal photography on July 10 (Asar 25).

Produced under the Bishram Films Pvt. Ltd. banner, the movie stars Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar in the lead roles alongside a cast of more than two dozen actors. Most of the filming will take place in the Kathmandu Valley, and the film is set for a theatrical release on December 4 (Mangsir 18).

Director Anil Budha Magar said the film presents a socially relevant and emotionally driven story inspired by true events. Producer Jeevan Gurung added that special attention has been given to delivering a compelling narrative with high technical standards, supported by an experienced cast and crew.

The production team includes producers Jeevan Gurung, Kabita Gurung, Bhojendra Gurung (Bhoj), and Sarun Sherchan, with Suman Gurung and Khem Rana serving as co-producers. Music will be composed by Manoj Thapa Magar and Sagar Ale Magar.

The screenplay is written by Raju Syangtan, while cinematography will be handled by Shishir Bisankhe. Govinda Shahi’s Kafiya Films has acquired the Kathmandu distribution rights, while Kuber Cine Distribution will distribute the film outside the capital.

Speaking at the launch event, both Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar expressed their excitement about being part of a film based on a true story and said they look forward to bringing the project to audiences.
