KATHMANDU. With the objective of promoting the talent, confidence, and cultural identity of married homemakers and professional women from the Tamang community, the fifth edition of the beauty pageant ‘Mrs. Tamang 2026’ (Season 5) is set to be organized. According to the organizers, the ‘Grand Auditions’ for this year will commence very soon.

Presented by SK Entertainment, this pageant will be entirely free of cost. Shanta Kumari Tamang, the event organizer and senior female social worker, stated that the entire process—from application forms to training—has been made completely free for interested aspirants. This initiative aims to ensure that talented women are not deprived of opportunities due to the high fees typically charged by commercial beauty pageants, allowing everyone an equal platform to showcase their potential.

A Campaign for the Preservation of Tamang Art and Culture Embracing Nepal’s multilingual and multicultural essence, the primary objective of this pageant is to promote the art, culture, attire, rituals, and lifestyle of the Tamang community at national and international levels through married women. At a time when the younger generation is drifting away from their roots due to modernization, this pageant works to reconnect them with their identity while empowering women intellectually and culturally. The previous editions have been grand successes, with Sarita Tamang being crowned the winner of ‘Mrs. Tamang 2023’.

International Choreographer and Expert Management Continuing the legacy of past editions, Shanta K. Tamang is leading the event as the Event Organizer. Born in Khaniyabas Rural Municipality-3, Dhading, and currently residing in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, Ms. Tamang is a youth leader of the Nepali Congress and a young tourism entrepreneur. She has a long and successful track record of organizing pageants like ‘Miss Tamang’ and ‘Miss Indigenous’.

Currently dedicated to serving the helpless, needy, disabled, and elderly, she views politics, beauty pageants, and social work as complementary fields, with her ultimate goal being dedicated to women’s empowerment.

Furthermore, Nepal’s renowned international choreographer, Rojin Shakya, is associated with the event as the chief choreographer to provide top-tier training. Selected contestants will undergo an intensive 30 to 35 days of closed-door training. Provided entirely free of cost, this training session will feature expert-led classes on personality development, fashion, stage presence, makeup, confidence building, public speaking, photoshoots, and, most importantly, Tamang cultural arts, performances, and traditions.

Opportunities for the Winners The winners of the grand finale will receive an attractive crown, trophy, and certificate. In addition, they will secure opportunities to collaborate with various national and international brands, find professional avenues in modeling and the media sector, and receive attractive prizes. Beyond the titles, this platform will enable them to develop leadership skills, represent their community, and establish themselves in society. Past winners have successfully carved out careers in modeling, communication, social work, the glamour industry, and various business sectors.
