With former beauty queen Nagma Shrestha as national director, Ma Nepalí in cooperation with CG Corp Global, has been announced as the new franchise holder of the Miss Universe pageant in Nepal.
Nagma competed in Miss Earth 2012 prior to being appointed by the Hidden Treasure as Miss Universe Nepal in 2017, making her the first-ever representative of Nepal in the Miss Universe pageant.
In a digital conference attended by the reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi on Thursday, June 11, the new Miss Universe Nepal organization also revealed that the 2020 competition will be held completely through an app.
The app is currently in its development stage but will be available for download by mid-July.
Miss Universe Nepal 2020 will be the first-ever all in-app pageant in the country to ensure everyone’s safety amidst the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. This is also to provide women across the country an opportunity to participate irrespective of their location or economic circumstances.
The new organization is also working towards bringing the Miss Universe competition to Nepal one day.
Nepal’s highest achievement at Miss Universe pageant was in 2018 when Manita Devkota placed in the Top 10.
