A 20-year-old model, Aurra Kharishma, was crowned Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 on Sunday, June 21 in a competition that was streamed live on Youtube. She bested four other finalists to win the national competition.
Bella Aprilia was the first runner-up and she received the title of Miss Intercontinental Indonesia 2020. She will compete in the next edition of Miss Intercontinental pageant.
Jazmine Rowe, Jessika Lagu, and Nadia Ingrida were awarded Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, and Miss Glowing Skin, respectively.
The new Miss Grand Indonesia was born in Majalengka, West Java, and has been modeling since the age of 13. She joined Miss Model of the World 2018 competition in Shenzhen, China, and won Miss Model of Asia and Best in National Costume.
Aurra will represent Indonesia at Miss Grand International 2020 pageant in Venezuela this coming October. Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the schedule and venue of the competition are yet to be confirmed.
“Thank you for the chance and the opportunity that has given to me as Miss Grand Indonesia 2020. And I am so excited to start my new journey,” she wrote on Instagram.
Indonesia has won Miss Grand International once with Ariska Putri Pertiwi being crowned in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) in 2016.
