Kathmandu- Renowned lyricist Tek Tamang is set to host his first solo musical event titled “Lyricist Tek Tamang Musical Evening – 2082” on Ashar 14 (Saturday) at 4:00 PM at the Nepal Academy Hall in Kamaladi, Kathmandu. The event is being organized by the Lyricists’ Association of Nepal.
The solo evening will feature 17 of Tamang’s popular songs, performed live with instrumental accompaniment by both veteran and contemporary singers. Performers include Deep Shrestha, Anju Panta, Rajesh Payal Rai, Shiva Pariyar, Sworupraj Acharya, Reshma Bomjan, among others.
A 22-member musical ensemble will support the performances, under the musical direction of Ashok Kumar Rai.
The event is free and open to the public, with expectations that it will contribute to cultural promotion and social empowerment.
Apart from being a prominent lyricist, Tek Tamang also serves as an Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police. His published works include “Mato Ko Awaj”, “Swadesh”, “Aama”, “Naata”, “Bhaktisagar”, and “Nepal Aama”.
