The National Creator and performer Academy successfully organized the “Bisistha Sadhak Samman 2082”, honoring three senior creators for their outstanding contributions to the field of art.

Nepal’s first dance director and renowned artist Bhairab Bahadur Thapa, senior singer and writer Chandrakala Shah, and senior folk singer and lyric collector Resham Thapa were each honored with a cash prize of NPR 5,555, a shawl, and a letter of appreciation. On Mangsir 6, the office-bearers of the foundation visited each creator’s residence separately and presented the honors in the presence of their family members.

The honored creators expressed happiness and gratitude for being respected in a warm, family-like environment at their own homes. They also extended best wishes, expressing hope that the foundation will be able to fulfill its aim of contributing to the welfare of Nepali art and artists.

A documentary based on the contributions of 93-year-old renowned dance guru Bhairav Bahadur Thapa to the promotion of Nepali dance in Nepal and abroad was also screened by his son, noted music arranger Maharaj Thapa.

The program was held in the presence of the foundation’s advisor and senior lyricist Ramesh Dahal, senior composer and singer Kamal Adhikari, working committee president Narayan Bahadur Thapa, senior vice-president Dipak Sharma, vice-president Sujata KC, general secretary Sanam Kathayat, secretary Rita KC, treasurer Pratiksha Kafle, and members Birendra Bhat “Bipin”, Manoj Pariyar, David Shankar, Subhash Timilsina, Kopila Siwakoti, Pramod Digi, and Bikrant Acharya.
