Kathmandu: The Event Management Association of Nepal successfully organized its first grand gathering and picnic program in the capital. The event, held at Salambutar, Kathmandu, witnessed the notable presence of more than 130 event organizers, artists, journalists, and music professionals from across the country, according to the association.

A special interactive session was also conducted during the gathering, where in-depth discussions were held on the current challenges, opportunities, and necessary reforms in the event, music, and entertainment sectors.

The discussion was facilitated by the Association’s Treasurer, Manoj Thapa. The panel of speakers included senior singer and association advisor Sitaram Pokharel, senior comedian CP Pudasainee ‘Dhature’, executive committee member of the Film Artists Association and actor Shridev Bhattarai, General Secretary of the Film Journalists Association Raghunath Sapkota, President of the National Creators and Presenters Association and singer Narayan Thapa, and former President of the Event Management Association, Lab Bahadur Karki.

The speakers emphasized that only through mutual cooperation and strong professional relationships among event managers, artists, journalists, and organizers can the industry be made sustainable. They stressed the importance of professional ethics, transparency, and the use of modern technology as top priorities.

The program was chaired by the Association’s President, Rajendra Luitel (Raj). Various recreational sports and dance competitions were also organized during the picnic and special gathering. The winners were awarded special prizes, and all participants were presented with souvenirs as tokens of love.

The program was jointly hosted by Vice President Samir Lama and General Secretary Sonitaraj Dhungel.

The Association stated that it has been playing a significant role in social service through entertainment programs in recent years. Established as a common organization of event organizers and managers across the country, the Association informed that more effective programs will be introduced in the coming days focusing on capacity building, skill development training, safety standards, and professional rights in the field of event management.

Currently, the central leadership of the Event Management Association of Nepal includes President Rajendra Luitel, Vice Presidents Trishna Gurung and Samir Lama, General Secretary Sonitaraj Dhungel, Secretary Bipin Pokharel, Joint Secretary Bhagirath Pokharel, Treasurer Manoj Thapa, Joint Treasurer Sapana Rai, and members Ram Krishna Shrestha, Subash Shrestha Pradhan, Rahul Banjade, Pooja Regmi, and Lomas Karki.

The Association also informed that more than 130 event organizers are currently affiliated as active members.
