Kathmandu: A new musical collaboration between lyricist Reema Shrestha and renowned singer Pramod Kharel has been unveiled with the release of their latest song “Yaad.”
Reema Shrestha, who has been residing in the United States for a long time, continues to make a notable contribution to the Nepali music industry. Professionally an IT engineer, she has consistently pursued her passion for writing, creating songs centered around themes of love, separation, and social positivity.
Over the years, she has collaborated with several prominent Nepali artists, including Anju Panta, Swaroop Raj Acharya, Rajesh Payal Rai, Asmita Adhikari, Pushpan Pradhan, and Kiran Gajmer, among others.
She shares that writing brings her a unique sense of joy and fulfillment. Through her YouTube channel Reema Shrestha’s World, she has been regularly publishing her creations, reflecting her continued dedication to Nepali art, culture, and language despite living abroad.
Beyond music, Shrestha has also been actively involved in community work. For the past six years, she has served as an advisor to the Kansas City Nepalese Society, which organizes cultural events such as New Year, Teej, Holi, Dashain, and Deusi-Bhailo programs to preserve Nepali traditions.
The newly released song “Yaad” features lyrics by Reema Shrestha and vocals by Pramod Kharel, with music composed by Rabindra Poudel. The music video showcases performances by Dr. Subhash Acharya, Rabindra Paudyal, and Kritika Basnet.
Directed by Sonam Pakhrin, the video includes cinematography by Dinesh Parajuli and editing by Bikash Dahal.
The song “Yaad” is now available across various digital platforms. Shrestha’s continued dedication and creative contributions are expected to leave a lasting impact on Nepali music and society.
