Dhangadhi — Sudurpaschim Province’s first Actor and veteran artist Ambika Prasad Acharya has officially launched A.S. Udaan Film Production in Dhangadhi.
The production house was formally inaugurated by Member of the House of Representatives Dilliram Pant, Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly Member Dharmaraj Pathak, actor Shridev Bhattarai, and Chairman of the Event Management Association Nepal, Rajendra Luitel.
On the same occasion, artists from the children’s short national film “Ritu”, produced by A.S. Udaan Film Production, were honored.
Chief guests Pant, Pathak, Bhattarai, and Luitel presented letters of appreciation and honors to the artists.
The short film Ritu was produced under permission from the Film Development Board of Nepal, directed and written by Ambika Prasad Acharya himself.
The educational and message-oriented children’s short film features story editor Stuti Acharya, cameraman Anil Chaudhary, and technical lightsman Yogesh Awasthi.
Shot entirely in Sudurpaschim, Ritu stars Sonia Bam, Sushmita Kunwar Khadka, Sabina Kandel (Balayar), Sushil Prakash Joshi, Jyoti Upreti, Jawani Chaudhary, Abhishek Thapa, and Amrita Karki.
During the same ceremony, Nepal’s popular “chocolate hero” and model Shridev Bhattarai, along with world record holder and Chairman of the Event Management Association Nepal Rajendra Luitel, were felicitated with khada and dosalla (traditional scarves of honor).
Speaking at the event, MP Dilliram Pant praised Acharya’s long-standing contribution to Nepali cinema, recalling his powerful performance in the film Arpan, which he said remains fresh in his memory.
Pant further remarked that Acharya’s initiative to establish a film banner to promote local artists in Sudurpaschim is highly commendable.
Similarly, Provincial Assembly Member Dharmaraj Pathak stated that Acharya, known as Sudurpaschim’s first hero, has now successfully established himself as both a producer and director through the film Ritu.
Actor Shridev Bhattarai said that Sudurpaschim is rich in art and culture, and has attractive locations suitable for film production, mentioning that he has already acted in three films shot in the region.
Chairman Rajendra Luitel expressed his pride in being part of the inauguration of a production company led by a renowned actor carrying the identity of Sudurpaschim at the national level through cinema.
In his closing remarks, Director and Producer Ambika Prasad Acharya shared his plans to establish a film college and acting institute in Sudurpaschim to train new talents and produce films in the various local languages of the region.
The inauguration and felicitation ceremony was chaired by Director Ambika Prasad Acharya himself, and conducted by Secretary Gunakar Paneru.
