The 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant was held on 31 May 2025 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
Reigning titleholder Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic crowned Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand at the conclusion of the event. With this historic win, Thailand secured its first-ever Miss World title.
A total of 108 contestants from countries and territories around the globe competed for the prestigious crown. The grand finale was co-hosted by Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016, alongside Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar.
Adding glamour to the evening, Bollywood stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter delivered special performances during the ceremony.
On 19 February 2025, the Miss World Organization officially announced that Hyderabad would host the final event on 31 May 2025. This marked the third time India has hosted the global pageant, following Miss World 1996 and Miss World 2023.
The 2025 edition was held under the theme “She Moves The World”, highlighting women’s empowerment, leadership, and global impact. Various pre-pageant activities, including Sports Day events in Telangana, were organized as part of the month-long competition schedule.
Contestants were selected through national-level competitions organized by respective franchise holders in their countries and territories. Each participant represented the official Miss World licensee of her nation. In cases where national pageants were not held, delegates were appointed by local organizations under the guidelines of the Miss World Organization.
The selection process typically evaluated candidates based on beauty with a purpose projects, social impact initiatives, talent, intelligence, personality, and public speaking skills — core elements that define the Miss World competition.
The successful hosting of Miss World 2025 further strengthened India’s position as a key destination for international cultural and entertainment events, while Thailand’s victory added a new chapter to the pageant’s global history.
